Sue Ryder Care - Beat the Baton 5k race

The race is over!!! And we finished in less than 30 minutes!!! :-) :-) :-)

Thank God for Vickii o... Just over halfway into the race, I was ready to stop. I have been packing my stuff to move out of my flat, I went to bed at 4am and woke up at 8.30. Then I had to move my stuff out of the flat for the next couple of hours - Not the best preparation for a race! My legs felt heavy all of a sudden... It didn't help that the weather was kinda crap - rain and wind and freezing temps!

I kept on saying I was tired and I was going to stop... Vickii kept on telling me we were almost done,I am sure I slowed us down a bit. Close to the end, I held on to Vickii's hand and kept up with her that way... Thank you so much Vickii!!!

Our(Vickii and Buki) time: 29minutes 08seconds!!!! 2 minutes quicker than our best :-)

I saw my Mummy after the race and told her I ran for her... she's looking so good... :-)

P.S. I was interviewed by a TV channel because the charity read about my motivation to take part in the race - my Mummy. I might be on TV!!!
Our pictures were taken so many times - I was pinning Vickii's number on the back of her shirt and a photographer came up to me and asked me to smile while I was doing it, Vickii and I were walking and some other photographer asked is to smile for a picture, then when we were warming up, another one took our picture! We are mini celebs o :-)

Well done, Buki. My son has just left hospital after almost a year following a viral infection. He's shocked the medics by his amazing recovery which has been due to prayers. I'm touched by your blogs and your love for your mum. Keep on praying, I will continually pray for you too that your mum will have a complete healing. Keep up the faith!

Well done to us Buki and thanks to everyone for your support and good wishes!

You underestimate yourself Buki, I know you wouldn't have stopped even if I hadn't been there and for someone who had hardly slept, and was so tired, we were running at the exact same pace even at the end when you were exhausted! And the weather didn't help, it was the worst possible weather!

We did it and within our personal best so I'm proud of us!

Have a great week and make sure you tell us when you're going to be on tv!!!
