My first 10 weeks of WW were very detailed... from now on, I'll just share my weight on Thursdays to show how well I am doing at maintaining my weight... :-)

Friday was good.. :-)
Saturday... went for the Ally Pally/Muswell Hill with Vickii today, I introduced her to my hilly route :-) SURPRISINGLY we did it in 57/58 minutes! Do you know what that means? That I've been running it slower than I really can because I wasn't even struggling while we were running today... Vickii's suggested we run this route together once a month and we'll do our timed 10ks and other long runs in Regents Park once a week(when we can meet up).

I ran for 1 hour 13 minutes... Would have liked to do more but I have a lot of excuses why I didn't:

  • I got to the park late and I had a lot to do today(wash my Mummy's hair, wash, steam and style my hair....)
  • I was tired, it really is taking LONG for my body to get back to normal
  • I just couldn't be bothered
Interval training tomorrow - morning or evening.

It's raining an raining and raining and raining...

I wanted to run for 1 hour 30 minutes but the weather didn't allow me... I ran for 1 hour 11 minutes and I was ready to leave...

It was an ok run cos it was only drizzling for the first hour... then the last 11 minutes - it was raining.

My race is in a week.... I need to run 10k in less than 1 hour 6 minutes.

Waffy - WELL DONE! I am so proud... I am in a hurry now so can't say much. Take care and I'll be back!

Vickii and I jogged the same distance as the last two Saturdays... We were slower today but whatever!!!! LOL! To be honest, we are not really timing ourselves, just trying to do long runs once a week.

We jogged for 1 hour 43 minutes. I am loving these long runs now :-) In the next few weeks, we'll increase the distance by 3 miles.

Vickii and I ran the same route as last week... Did it in a couple of minutes less(1 hour 37 minutes), we weren't timing ourselves, or trying to beat our previous time, we just wanted to know how long we ran for.

I made a conscious effort to run like Vickii on the hills and I must say I did much better today - my pace was constant :-) I didn't feel tired at the end and I was able to pick up my pace with about 200m to go... We'll do this route for 2 more Saturdays then we'll increase the distance.

I am tired right now, went straight to my Mummy from the park. Just got back and I need to take a shower... NOW!!!

Vickii and I planned to go for a long run today... ~ 1 hour 30 minutes.

We ran for 1 hour 40 minutes... I think this is the first time I have ever run for this long. It wasn't very easy for me but we did it! We should be doing this again next weekend. If we are taking part in a half marathon in September, we need to easily run, at least, 2 hours... and also work on our pace.

Vickii told me she's noticed my pace is not constant... I speed up and slow down. I thought about it and I think it's the park - after running up slopes, I slow down ALWAYS before I pick up my pace again. I need to do hill runs once a week because Vickii seems to be fine with the slopes.

I am going to take a shower, eat and chilllllll.

Should be training tomorrow morning before church.

I started out too late today... My plan was to run for 1hr 30 minutes today BUT I could only run for just over 1 hour... because I have a lot to do today.

It was a really good run in a park near my friend's house... there were a lot of dogs(I don't like at all, I was able to ignore them... it was hard) but it was nice. When I was done, I knew I had another 45minutes to an hour in me but... no time.

Next weekend.... 1 hour 30 minutes +

Vickii and I went running in the park, this afternoon.

The plan was - an easy run. We agreed on 45 minutes but we ended up running for 1 hour 10 minutes. We started easy and I thought we should try increasing our pace for short distances, then slowing down - a mini tempo run. We did this 4 times in the middle of the run and we kinda took it easy for the rest of the run. It was really really good, I still feel good right now, hours after - went to see my Mummy and I'm back home now.

My plan is to exercise everyday this week, except Sunday(the day before our 5k race). I'll do a couple of home workouts and I'll run the other days - easy run, training...

I had bran flakes and a banana(cut up) for breakfast...

Vickii and I went running today. We ran a timed 5k... it felt like we were running harder than usual but our time was just over 32 minutes! Slower than our best time...


We didn't run last weekend and I think our bodies had to work harder today, it felt like we were running quicker BUT we were actually only running harder, exerting more energy cos it felt harder.

I was working on my breathing today and I think I need more practice... will blog more about it another day. I am HUNGRY!!!

Vickii and I are running tomorrow (for about 45 minutes to an hour, could be more, LOL!) and interval training or some form of training on Monday.

DAY 10
**It's the weekend, might be going to a friend's to eat... thank God it's all cooked food so I don't have to be too careful... :-) I've noticed positive changes in my body inside and out. I feel clean inside, make sense? And my stomach is looking like it should on the outside... :-)**

1. I had Muesli for breakfast
2. Snack - We had strawberries and bananas after our run in the park.
3. Lunch - Plantain(Roasted)
4. Snack - Will update later
5. Dinner - Will update later

Exercise - Vickii and I ran 10k(3 laps) in the park.
Lap 1: 23min 16secs
Lap 2: 22min 43secs
Lap 3: 21min 46secs

I like the way our times got better after each lap. Total time was 1 hour 7minutes 47seconds. I felt dehydrated so Vickii suggested I have a litre of water before I leave home and some more before running... will do that.

**REMEMBER: Eat FIVE times a day... Snack in between meals. Don't go too long without eating something. Try to drink at least 2 litres of water each day at regular intervals not all in one go. Try not to drink hot chocolate (only if you grow the cocoa in your back garden! LOL!!), coffee or tea (you can have herbal and green tea)**

DAY 4
1. I had Fruit and Fibre for Breakfast.
2. Snack - An apple and a banana after our run in the park.
3. Rice, chicken and broccoli for Lunch.
4. Snack - will have this after dinner
5. Dinner - A large bowl of Strawberries, Grapes and Two Oranges. My eggs are about to expire so I will boil two...

Exercise
- Vickii and I ran 10k round the park. It was H-O-T today! We had to stop during the 2nd and Third Lap to get some water from the fountain in the park... luckily it was on our route. We ran in 1hour 11minutes... We were both tired, the heat was a huge factor.

DAY 3
1. I ate really early today, immediately after I got back from church(Over night service), I ate my breakfast (muesli) @ 7am.
2. Snack - After running today, I had a banana and I have had a handful of grapes and some strawberries
3. Lunch - potatoes, chicken and broccoli. I will eat rice tomorrow, miss it!
4. Snack - More grapes and strawberries. Half a carrot.
5. Dinner - I had a subway sub with chicken and bacon. NO dressing, no sauce just tomatoes and cucumbers. I still had a busy(ish) evening ahead of me and I think I should have eaten more... anyway I ate some rice when I got home(I was too hungry!).

Exercise - I got to the park LATE and I can't apologise enough to Vickii. So... I suggested we do a 5k today and 10k tomorrow instead of the other way round.
It was really good but really hard cos we did try to run harder than normal, I felt it all the way through... our time was 31 minutes 27seconds. That's my best 5k time so far... :-)

Just got back home from a 10k run round the park with Vickii...

She finished 29.31 seconds before me! GO VICKII!!! I have warned her that next week... I will fly round that park!!! LOL!!!

The three lap times were quite consistent... 22min 07seconds, 22min 17seconds. and 21 min 56seconds(Vickii) and 22min 25seconds(for me).

Vickii's time was: 1 hour 6 minutes 02seconds(My time - 29.31)
My total time was: 1hour 6minutes 31seconds

I didn't even realise I beat my current best 10km time(1 hour 8 minutes at Run London 2006) by 2 minutes!!!

So Vickii WATCH YOUR BACK!!! LOL!!!

Let me just start by saying: Thank God for Vickii!
LOLLLLL!!!!

Seriously... I was SO not in the mood to go running last night and Vickii left a comment about going running today and tomorrow and I jumped at that!

We went today... It was really going well... The first lap was 22.16 and Vickii was happy with that.... second time felt good.

I was trying to make sure I kept up with Vickii and she says she was trying to keep up with me... It was good... :-)


After about 44 minutes, I stopped to loosen the laces on my right shoe and that's when things slowed down. I started to feel this weird pain on the sides of my legs... very weird and we couldn't figure out what it was (getting used to my new shoes or the uneven surface we were running on or what?). After a few minutes, we started running and it felt good for about 10 minutes and then I had to stop... Vickii stopped too and we walked the rest of the way, then we sprinted to the end!


I hope tomorrow goes better... we plan on doing a 10k route, like we did today.

We(Vickii, Buki and a friend) are starting a 21 day challenge next week Thursday. I'll blog more about it another day so anyone can try if interested.

... was so disappointing today! I am trying not to give excuses BUT:

  • My NEW shoes are not for me! My right foot still felt numb today! It's not tight just weird... so I am going to Runners Need to exchange them after taking a shower today!
  • My friend who visits monthly is on it's way, so my "babies" are a bit tender, every step I took wasn't nice for them. Ouch.
  • My shins hurt - The shoes! I am so sure

So... I only went round the park 2ce and the second time round , I stopped halfway through and walked the rest of the way. I wasn't tired but I had to stop cos I know my body.

I'm wondering maybe I should just leave running till Monday and start all over again. Pretend like this week never happened? LOL!!!

Right now I am waiting for my conditioner to set in... I washed my hair and I have to leave it in for 20 minutes.

I went running round the park today, OFCOURSE! It was good!

At one point, I was not sure if I'd been round 3 or 4 times, so I decided to go round one more time. I saw F, and she told me I must have been round 4 times already because I'd been running for an hour... I said I wasn't too sure but I'd go round again.


When I got to the hill, I realised that YES I HAD BEEN ROUND 4 times already! Because the hill felt like a mountain, it was hard... I finished that lap in over 14 minutes.

So... I went round the park FIVE times today! Without even meaning to! LOL!!! First time EVER!

Onada, make sure you keep up with the running! Vickii, what's up? ToyinE, where are you o! We miss you! Waffy, how far? Anyone reading this... hope you are doing good... :-)

I'm gonna get to my Mummy a little late today! I'll leave home within an hour. Oh well, I'll make it up tomorrow - Mother's Day!

I ran round the park FOUR times!!!

This is the first time this year I've done that, I know it was a normal thing for me to do by the end of last year but I just never got round to doing it yet (this year) after recovering from Malaria and quickly getting back into my usual running...

I am so proud of myself and I told my friend F that I will be running round the park 5 times soon(in a few months) and 6 times later in the year :-) I want Saturday to be my LONG run day...

It took me just over an hour... time? I don't know because I am yet to buy my sports watch.

I just had my breakfast, going to wash my hair, then spending the afternoon washing my Mummy's hair...

I'm putting this up LATE in the day.

I had a long day - after running, I went to get my eyebrows done and the PERSON (I really want to abuse her) messed my eyebrows up. People have said it's not that bad BUT I don't like them AT ALL!!! Then I had to rush home to start making my way to the salon, where I spent almost FOUR hours... got to my Mummy at 7.30 and stayed for just under 2 hours...

Anyway, I went running round the park THREE times today... Although I have gone running quite a few Saturdays this year, this is the second time this year I have run in that park. I need to make it an every Saturday affair again... it was a really good run, Miss E and F came along... I didn't time myself, I just made sure my last time round the park was the fastest... THEN I decided to run up the SLOPE, I regretted it shortlay after! It was PAINFUL!!!

I feel good now... and I should do an easy run tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I hope everyone's doing okay :-)

Saturday's Wimbledon Run

The plan was to get to Wimbledon by 8.45am to register and take part in the race... Vickii got there before us (Buki and friend) BUT she got there after the race had already started and we were even later than she was!

We decided that we didn't want to have made our way to South London in vain, so we decided to run anyway. All three of us ran for about 30 minutes and it was a good run. Vickii runs at a very good pace so I didn't slack at all while running :-) My friend, F, who came with me, is just getting back into running 'cos she stopped for a while, she was happy she came and so was I :-)

WELL DONE Vickii and F... :-)


Anway, I have to go and take a shower, sort out my disgraceful eyebrows and go to my Mummy... ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR WEEKEND :-)

I went running round the park today :-)

I ended up going three times, as planned... :-)

I went with two of my friends... The hills, the slopes... I felt like I was coming back to a LONG LOST FRIEND... NOT! LOL!!!
I timed myself the first time round - 16 mins. I wasn't too happy with this time so I decided not to time myself anymore. I know the time wasn't too bad compared to my times in the past BUT I just wasn't too happy with it so I decided not to. And then I thought maybe I should time myself, started the stopwatch and forgot to check my time until I was on my way home! LOL!!!!
Right at the end of my run, my friend started cheering me on and I SPRINTED to the end... FUN!!!!


I felt really good about the run today, I really did.

Oh, I registered for the Sue Ryder Care 'Beat The Baton' race this morning... and another friend did as well... So who else is up for it? Vickii (I know you are! REGISTER NOW!!!)? Coral?
